The Eelectron IC00B01DMX is a unidirectional KNX-to-DMX512 gateway that lets KNX pushbuttons, scenes and logic drive DMX lighting fixtures, LED controllers and effect devices across all 512 channels of a DMX universe. It is used in bars, hotel lobbies, showrooms and residential media rooms where architectural DMX fixtures must respond to the same wall controls as the rest of the KNX installation.
Channel values, 8 sequences and scenes are configured with the free eDMX configurator software over USB or RS-232, and the KNX main group is set with a rotary switch, so the gateway can be commissioned without ETS. Scenes are then recalled through KNX group addresses. The unit is powered from 9–30 V DC and mounts on a DIN rail.
Commissioning follows a simple sequence: the DMX channel values for each scene and sequence are entered or captured in the eDMX software, the rotary switch is set to the KNX main group that will trigger them, and the gateway is then driven by ordinary group telegrams from pushbuttons, scene controllers or a visualization. Because communication is one-way, DMX fixtures do not report back to KNX; status should therefore be derived from the triggering KNX objects. The RS-232 and USB ports remain available for later edits without removing the unit from the panel.
