The Eelectron BI16F01KNX is a 16-channel DIN-rail binary input for KNX, designed for panels that collect a large number of dry contacts: pushbuttons, switches, magnetic door contacts, motion detectors and pulse-emitting meters. Each line can be supervised with a 1.8 kΩ end-of-line resistor so a cut or shorted cable is reported, and the front LED of the affected input flashes; cable runs up to 100 m (328 ft) are supported.

The device is powered from the bus for communication but takes 230 V AC mains for the input scanning stage (under 1 W), and all front LEDs flash if the mains feed is missing. Inside, 16 logic blocks and a per-input pulse counter cover interlocks and metering, and the Virtual Holder logic turns a door contact plus presence detectors into reliable room-occupancy information for hotel guest rooms. It is a practical choice for hospitality, offices and multi-dwelling retrofits where many conventional switches must be integrated.
