The Eelectron BI08H01KNX is an 8-channel DIN-rail binary input for KNX whose inputs are voltage-proof from 100 to 250 V AC/DC. Instead of dry contacts it reads live signals: the switched output of a conventional 230 V motion detector, the auxiliary contact of a breaker or contactor, a timer or any circuit that presents mains voltage when active. That makes it the tool for bringing legacy 230 V control wiring into a KNX system without rewiring the sensors.

Every input can issue switching, dimming, shutter, scene and multi-operation commands, and the application adds alarms, timers with cyclic remaining-time feedback, logic functions, setpoints, an advanced scene controller and configurable behavior at bus recovery. The module sits in a standard 4-module DIN housing and is commissioned with ETS like the rest of the Eelectron DIN range.

In practice the module is wired like a set of 230 V signalling inputs: each channel receives line voltage through the device it monitors, and the input state is translated into the configured KNX telegram. Because no dry contact or auxiliary relay is needed, existing detectors, timers and contactor auxiliaries can be integrated with minimal rewiring, and the same device also serves as a status feedback point for circuits that are switched outside the KNX system. Installers should keep the mains input wiring separate from SELV bus cabling in the panel and observe the usual separation rules between 230 V and KNX terminals.

Key Features

  • 8 high-voltage inputs, voltage-proof 100–250 V AC/DC
  • Reads standard 230 V AC motion detectors and other mains-level signals directly
  • Input functions: switching value, dimming, shutter, KNX scenes, multiple operations
  • Analog and digital alarms; timers with cyclic sending of remaining time
  • Logic functions, setpoints, scene controller and advanced scene controller
  • Overwrite of end-user parameters and defined behavior at bus recovery
  • 4-module DIN-rail housing for standard distribution boards; KNX interface integrated
