DALI-2 certification can help buyers compare lighting-control components for interoperability, but a product name alone is not proof of certification. Ahead of a project, check the exact model and variant in the Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA) product database and confirm which functions and device type its listing covers.
About the June 2026 update
A DiiA webinar was noted for June 27–28, 2026 in the briefing for this article. We have not independently confirmed the event details or any specific changes to certification requirements, so this article does not treat a new test rule or expanded gateway category as established. Consult DiiA’s current program materials before applying any update to a specification.
Gateways and commissioning interfaces
For a KNX installation, the KNX/DALI Gateway Plus is a bridge to DALI lighting control. Check its channel capacity, DALI device compatibility and the exact certification status required by your project.
For commissioning and diagnostics, the DALI-2 USB 30mA offers a USB interface with a 30mA bus supply that is off by default; account for the total bus power budget before enabling it. The DALI 4Net Basic offers Ethernet access to four DALI lines, but requires separate DALI power supplies for those lines.
Wireless and retrofit controls
For wireless or retrofit controls, the wDALI RM8 1-10V PWM pairs a wireless DALI link with PWM control and a relay for compatible operating devices. The EnOcean DALI-2 MC connects battery-free EnOcean pushbuttons to a DALI system; confirm the version and integration mode before specifying it. These products solve different wiring and control problems, so they are not interchangeable.
